What is Solar Energy?
Solar energy is, simply, energy provided by the sun. This green energy is in the form of solar radiation, which makes the production of solar electricity possible.
Electricity can be produced directly from photovoltaic (PV) cells. Photovoltaic literally means “light” and “electric”. These cells are made from materials which exhibit the “photovoltaic effect” i.e. when sunlight hits the PV cell, the photons of light excite the electrons in the cell and cause them to flow, generating electricity. Solar PV systems generate power via solar panels which are installed on your property’s roof.
Hi-Tech Solar Energy Systems
The technology of solar photovoltaic allows you to generate free electricity for your home using the natural energy from the sun. It is a form of renewable energy and only a tiny amount of this available energy is actually used. By installing a solar PV system you are harnessing this power for your own use and benefit.
Green Energy All Year Round
The modern technology in our solar panels means that you don’t need to live somewhere sunny in order to benefit from installing solar PV. The panels work on light intensity – not heat or direct sunlight. This means that even on overcast days you’ll still be generating free electricity to power your home.
Get Money For Your Solar Energy
The Government backed ‘Feed In Tariff’ means that you’ll get paid for every unit of electricity you generate – this includes what you use in your home and the extra units that you ‘feed in’ to the national grid. As well as getting paid to generate electricity, you will also be saving on your current energy bills – the exact amount you save will depend upon the size of your system, how much electricity you use and when.
Reliable Power Day & Night
During daylight hours your new solar PV system will generate energy to use in your home and at night, when no natural daylight is available, the system will work in seamless conjunction with your current energy supplier to ensure you do not receive a drop in power.
